RoseMary Spizzirri, LCSW, is a psychotherapist and co-founder Mindful Connections Behavioral Health, pc in Elmhurst and Oak Park  Illinois.

She has over 30 years of social work experience working with individuals, couples and families.  She specializes in providing trauma-informed and attachment focused psychotherapy to assist in healing youth and their families.  

We assist adults who have suffered complex trauma or other types of trauma.

She also specializes in understanding personality disorders and helps family members navigate their relationship with a someone who suffers from borderline personality and narcissistic personality disorders.

RoseMary received her Master in Social Work from Jane Adams College of Social Work in Chicago in 1996. RoseMary has a broad range of training and experience. Prior to her career in child welfare, RoseMary was a case manager and therapist for adults with severe mental illness.  She then supervised and trained child welfare case workers at Catholic Charities for many years before becoming a full time training coordinator at Lutheran Social Services in 2005.

From 2005-2012, RoseMary trained Illinois child welfare staff and foster parents on issues relating to child welfare, trauma, assessment, and diagnosis. She was previously employed by Chicago State University as an administrator, facilitating statewide training on trauma-informed, family-centered, and strength-based practice.   Ms. Spizzirri has been professionally speaking, teaching college courses, and facilitating training since 1989.   Most recently she developed and presented webinars for Cross Country Education on topics relating to PTSD and other trauma relating disorders. 

Ms. Spizzirri has attended several trainings on a multitude of treatment modalities. She has advanced training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and uses the P.A.C.E. model to train parents to use therapeutic parenting skills to help heal their children.

Ms. Spizzirri believes in alternative holistic therapies and incorporates art, movement, yoga, and mindfulness in her practice.  She is a Reiki Master and meditation teacher and focuses on healing the whole person, body, mind, and spirit.
